GET BUSY WITH YOUR OWN WORK

Jul 23, 2024

If you found this blog, then you are likely kicking the tires on spirituality and wanting to hear what other people have to say.

Here’s by best advice.

Listen with an open mind, but adopt ideas—or beliefs—after a thorough vetting.

There is a lot of crap out there around what it means to lead a spirit-led life. My personal experience is that welcoming in my spirit makes life fun, interesting, and full of twists and turns. It’s way better than I expected. I now wake up eager to start my day, pouring my energy into projects I enjoy.

Before I found spirituality, I thought my highest best use was serving others’ needs. Before I welcomed in my spirit, I thought being good meant conformance to what others’ expected of me. Before I came to know the power of my own spirit, I thought I was meant to be contrite and humble all the time.

I can’t speak for others, but I do speak for me: Watch out for spiritual beliefs that tell you to play small, settle, or toss all your goals to go follow someone else’s idea of a good time. I am a belief snob. I turn up my nose at any spiritual rule or belief that doesn’t feel true to me. I make up my own mind as to what I will allow into my experience and into my life.

God gave me free will and I intend to use that gift. To decide for me.

Where are you holding on to someone else’s idea of spirit and thus blocking your own inner wisdom? Where have you adopted a belief that holds you back? Where can you allow your spirit to express more into your life and clear out your limiting beliefs?

Everything on this website is a gift from me to you. I’ve done the work to determine what I believe and I want you—and frankly everyone else on the planet—to do the work of discerning what they believe.

I am done with hand-me-down ideas. I am over people who try to tell me what my connection to my own soul is supposed to be like. I am ready to make room in my tent for anyone who wants to discern for herself what she believes.

Read the blog posts. Sign up for my newsletter. Peruse the courses. All of it is here so that you—and you alone—can figure out what you believe. While you do that, I’ll be over here enjoying life, creating more content, and living the life of an inspired librarian. That’s how I feel. I have so much content now that I’ve hooked up with my own spirit that I feel at times like I am an overwhelmed librarian who isn’t sure which book to recommend because they are all so good.

Here is what I want you to know: I too was a spiritual seeker. I read all the books. I listened to all the audio clips. I took everything I was handed as a child and put it under a microscope. And bit by bit, I let go of all my limiting and mistaken ideas until my pure, unadulterated spirit shone through.

That’s the gift of middle age. The time and the wisdom to decide for yourself. Your work? Show up and decide for yourself what you believe. Until you do, you’ll be riding the wave of someone else’s train of thought, which may be helpful, but it’s not your own personal access to all that is. Demand of yourself this one thing: a complete seizure of your own connection to spirit unfiltered by what anyone else says. Sit with this spirit and welcome it in. Watch your life change for the better.

Not sure where to start? Drop me a note and I’ll give you my best advice.
